The Commissioner of police In Ondo may have gotten his hands messy in the cookie jar.

The myriad of criminal activities bedeviling the state in the last few weeks have been traced to his door step which has continued to send a shiver of agitation across the spine of members of the public in Ondo State.

Although, the rumour had been milling in the background before now, until an Ondo state based group, Sunshine Liberation Forum decided to hit the nail on the head.

According to the leader of the group, Akinyele Akinwale, the crime rate and social vices across the state have incredibly increased, leaving the residents in perpetual panic.

"We have all the evidences to support our claim that Adeyanju has been aiding and abetting criminals who have now turned our roads to a den of kidnappers.

"Few weeks ago, he was in the house of assembly together with armed men when members of the state National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) descended on some lawmakers, staff of the assembly and journalists, beating them to pulp and nothing was heard on that till now."

The group however called for his immediate redeployment from the state.

Another member of the group cited the continuous operation of Internet fraudsters in the state which the commissioner knows about.

"It is not only about kidnapping or hoodlums attack, the police boss is also in deep relationship with internet fraudsters in the state. These guys perpetrate all sorts of criminal activities, killing innocent young ladies for ritual with little or no sanction on their activities."

The police boss however could not be reached for comment while efforts to get response from the command spokesman, Femi Joseph was not successful.

However, in a state security meeting held in Akure on Monday by governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor urged royal fathers across the state to join hands with the government in tackling insecurity.
