The South-east governors are currently in a closed-door meeting in Enugu State.

The meeting is deliberating on rising tension between the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and the Nigerian military in the region.

The five governors from the zone were present at the meeting, which is holding at the Enugu Government House.

Also in attendance is the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

The governors are expected to meet with some leaders of the zone to deliberate and come out with a blueprint on how to resolve the situation.

Kanu was supposed to have attended the meeting but backed out on Wednesday.

He claims he received security reports that the Army is planning to ambush and kill him on his way to the meeting.
