Emmanuel Emenike will be missing in action when the Greek League kicks off on Saturday.

It is understood that Emenike has suffered a muscle injury and will be sidelined for at least four weeks.

The striker suffered the injury during a friendly against Atromitos.

On Saturday, Emenike's Olympiacos will open their title defence at home against Larissa.

This injury setback also explains why the Nigeria striker was not listed by the Greek champions in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League qualifier at home against Rijeka of Croatia.

Emenike signed a two-year contract with Olympiacos after he left Turkish side, Fenerbache.
