Injured Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechikwu Ezenwa has returned to training following an injury layoff since January.

Ezenwa, who captained Nigeria to the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco, sustained the injury in the semifinal clash against Sudan on January 31, where he was replaced with Dele Ajiboye.

Nigeria beat Sudan 1-0 to advance to the final where the team lost 4-0 to hosts, Morocco.

The excited FC IfeanyiUbah safe hands, who is now back and fit, on Thursday posted a message on his Facebook wall to announce his return.

“Special thanks to God almighty for healing me, Ezenwa is back to the field of play with joy.

“And also thanks to my beloved fans all over the world for their prayers and concern they showed to me during the recovery process. God bless you all and I love you all.

“Also thanks to the NFF for their care and support throughout my stay in Abuja. God bless them.”‎

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has raised concerns over who will man the post for Nigeria as the 2018 FIFA World Cup approaches, but the return of Ezenwa is no doubt a major boost to the team.

Nigeria will play both Poland and Serbia in international friendly games this month as part of preparations towards the World Cup in Russia.
