#ElectionDay: INEC's Ikeja Adhoc Staff Refuse To Deploy, Demand Allowances
The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos has a tough situation on its hands.
Adhoc staff attached to polling units in Ikeja, Olusosun and Alausa have refused to deploy sensitive materials to local council areas.
The staff most of whom are members of the National Youth Service Corp are demanding unpaid allowances.
They claim the outstanding sum dates back to a fortnight during the presidential polls.
The aggrieved staff, who were seen relaxing under trees, were addressed by a senior INEC official who explained that the process to pay the allowances have commenced.
But he was told by the aggrieved staff that they will not join the electoral process until their allowances are paid and bank alerts are received on their mobile phones.
The National leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu is expected to cast his ballot within one of the affected local council areas.
