The Southeast Asian country of Indonesian cannot get enough of Nigeria's crude oil.

As you may already, the Nigerian crude oil grade, the sweet light is a toast of global oil market.

And that is the grade that Indonesia is in love with.

The country has now expressed the desire to buy more crude oil from Nigeria.

The Head of Economic Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy, Dwiyatna Widinugraha, visited the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Baru Maikanti on Wednesday in Abuja where he told Maikanti that Indonesia needs more Nigerian crude.

Widinugraha stated that Indonesia with a population of more than 250 million people needs about 1.6 million barrels of crude oil daily to meet its burgeoning energy requirement.

The Asians would love to have a Government-to-Government arrangement with Nigeria in that regard.  

Vice President of Pertamina, the Indonesian National Oil Company, Anizar Burlian also told Maikanto that they were in Abuja to thank Nigeria for helping them meet their local oil demand and ask for more.

“Over the years, we have bought huge amount of crude oil from Nigeria. We are extremely happy to buy more Nigerian crude oil which is globally rated to be of very high grade and which is very suitable for our refineries,” Mr. Burlian stated.
