It was a good day to ask Mesut Ozil how he feels playing for Arsenal under Unai Emery after registering a goal on his 200th appearance for the Gunners.

Although, the body language hasn’t been so fantastic this season, especially with him being pulled off in games for the first time in his Arsenal career.

The problem is that with Ozil, you hardly know when he is happy, but the mood was right and obvious on Saturday.

“I’ve said in the past that I’m very happy to play for Arsenal. The new coach knows what he wants, the team have accepted that and the whole team supports him.

“We have a good relationship with him and you can see that especially today as well. When we score, the whole team is happy, even the players who don’t play so many minutes.

“You see we are one team that wants to reach our goal. We are happy to take the three points,” he said after the 2-1 away win over Newcastle.

He was, however, quick to add that his milestone was less important to the three points helped the team win after a tough start to the season.

“I’m happy. The most important thing was to take the three points here. Congratulations to the whole team on playing very well.

“I know that Newcastle, especially at home, are very good and aggressive, but we showed character, gained the three points and we’re happy now.”

Arsenal continued their resurgence under Emery with a deserved 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in Saturday's Premier League fixture at St James' Park.

Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil netted early in the second half, while Newcastle halved the deficit through Ciaran Clark in added-on time.
