Ikoyi Whistleblower 'Not Paid' Because He Would Go Mad – Presidency
It seems the Federal Government to have a very big shining crystal ball that can tell the future in its possession.
The government must have checked this crystal ball to see that the Ikoyi apartment whistlebower would go insane if he was paid his entitled five per cent form the recovered loot.
The Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, has stated that the Federal Government does not want the whistle-blower who informed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of the 13 billion Naira in an Ikoyi apartment to run mad.
According to him, the FG deliberately delayed the payment because he needed to be adequately counselled before such amount would be handed over to him.
Sagay said if the commission, which the whistle-blower claimed was 860 million Naira, was given to him immediately, he probably would have squandered it within a month or two.
The presidential adviser said: “What I gathered from my inquiry is that the man is not sufficiently stable to receive such a huge sum of money.
"He is like someone who will almost run mental when he gets the money and will use it in an irresponsible manner, attracting not only undesirable people but even danger to himself".
Sagay said that the Federal Government had decided to pay the whistle-blower in tranches, adding that such a method of payment would deter him from spending it all at once.
