The last has not been heard of the controversial letter written by Kashim Afegbua, the spokesman for the former Head of State, Gen Ibrahim Babangida (retd.) to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Few hours after Afegbua sued the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris, the Nigeria Police and two media houses, for alleged harassment and persecution, he has been invited for questioning by the Department of State Services.

Afegbua will appear before the operatives of the service at their headquarters located at Asokoro District of Abuja on Thursday.

He was said to have received the invitation very late on Wednesday.

His lawyer, Kayode Ajulo, confirmed the invitation of his client on Tuesday night.

He said that Afegbua would honour the invitation.

“Yes, he has been invited and he would be there by noon on Thursday,” Ajulo said.

Sources said that Afegbua would be questioned on the directive he got from the former military dictator that made him (Afegbua) to issue a public statement on behalf of his principal that President Muhammadu Buhari should not contest in 2019.

IBB's statement published by Afegbua came days after a former President, Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, published a statement asking Buhari not to vie for a second term in 2019.

While Obasanjo was not invited for questioning, Afegbua is getting all the invites for questioning for acting on his boss' instruction.
