Ibadan Poly Students Jump On The Xenophobic Train
Ibadan Polytechnic students seem have adopted the popular saying in local parlance that 'Warri no dey carry last'. The only difference is that they are from Ibadan, not Warri.
The students on Friday staged a peaceful peaceful protest in Ibadan against Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
They converged at the premises of DSTV, a South African based firm in Jericho Area of Ibadan before moving to the state governor’s office.
The National President of the union, Olugbenga Adeyeye, condemned the dehumanisation of people in South Africa.
Adeyeye said that the students patience had been exhausted as it could no longer watch people being killed unjustly.
Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, commended the students for a peaceful protest.
He condemned xenophobia in all ramifications. Think about it closely, it's just insane people senselessly killing innocent people.
