The Nigeria 4x400m Women's Relay Team finished in fifth place on the final day of action at the IAAF World Championships in London.

It was the last shot at a medal in what was largely a disappointing outing for the country but like it has been in the last 10 days, Nigeria just could not measure up with the world.

This is the second consecutive time that Nigeria will end the world championships with no shade of medals.

It was a similar case at the 2015 edition in Beijing China.

While Nigeria has her face all covered in shame, it was a memorable tournament for Kenya and South Africa who finished second and third respectively on the final medals table behind overall champions; the United States of America.

It is worthy to note that other African countries like Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Morocco and even Burundi won at least one medal.
