The impressive performance of 16 Nigerian athletes at the recently held 21st African Senior Athletics Championships in Asaba, Delta State has earned them a chance to represent Africa at the IAAF Continental Cup that would take place from Sept. 8-9th in Ostrava.

A total of 77 athletes have been selected by the Confederation of African Athletics, CAA to fly the flag of the continent in Ostrava

With Nigeria getting 16 of her athletes listed, that is the second highest behind South Africa that got 20 athletes selected.

The Nigerian athletes ready to represent Africa are:

3 GLORY ONOME NATHANIEL (400mH, 4x400m)

4 GRACE ANIGBATA (Triple jump)

5 TEMILOLA OGUNRINDE(Hammer throw)

6 KELECHI NWANAGA (Javelin throw)

7 Blessing Okagbare (4x100m)

8 Joy-Udo Gabriel (4x100m)

9 Rosemary Chukwuma (4x100m)

10 Chioma Onyekwere (Discus throw)

11 Divine Oduduru (200m)

12 Abejoye Oyeniyi (110mH)

13 Chuks Enekwechi (Shot put)

14 Yinka Ajayi (4x400m reserve)

15 Mercy Ntia-Obong (4x100m reserve)

16 Chidi Okezie (4x400metres reserve)
