Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare is set to return to action in the IAAF Diamond League after missing out on the second leg of the money-spinning event in Shanghai, China.

However, while she competed in the sprints last term out, she will be jumping for glory in Eugene, Oregon as she has been registered for the Women’s Long Jump event.

Okagbare will be rubbing shoulders with the world’s best jumpers as she is listed to compete alongside top names like Ugen Lorraine and the American duo of Bartoletta Tianna and Reese Brittney-who undoubtedly is the firm favourite for the top finish.

Okagbare won Bronze in the Women’s Long Jump Event at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games but she has not had much success in the sands even though some feel she has a comparative advantage in that field compared to the sprints.

Known as the Prefontaine Classic, the Meet in Eugene, Oregon is the third leg of the 2017 Diamond League series and, as ever, is loaded with a host of the world's top athletes.

It will be taking place on Saturday, May 27.
