Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother to the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is denying his purported arrest by operatives of Enugu police command on Tuesday.

The news of Kanu’s arrest is coming few days after some Jewish members of the proscribed group were arrested on Sunday 13th May following protests demanding the release of IPOB members still in detention.

Speaking in a telephone interview, Emmanuel confirmed that he was not arrested by anybody.

“Nobody invited me to police station or arrested me. There was nothing like that, I can assure you.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations officer, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna also dismissed the report as figments of imagination of some mischief makers.

Meanwhile, there has been increased presence of policemen around Afara community, in Umuahia, Abia state capital, the hometown of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
