Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says he has not made up his mind to run for presidency in 2019.

He noted that he will inform Nigerians at the right time.

Atiku stated this in a Voice of America (VOA) Hausa magazine program on Wednesday.

According to him, he will inform Nigerians in due time if he wants to contest for the country’s number one seat.

“For now I have not made up my mind. When I decide, I will let the world know.”

There have, however, been strong speculations that Atiku will run for the seat in the 2019 general elections.

Atiku rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party in November citing failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to fulfill its campaign promises.

In his resignation letter from the APC, Atiku had accused President Muhammadu Buhari of neglecting him and condemned the APC for “instituting a regime of a draconian clampdowns on all forms of democracy”.

He had also said in a recent interview that if he contested against Buhari in 2019, he would floor the president because of his “poor policies and failure to deliver on his electoral promises”.
