Brazilian superstar, Neymar has stated that he would value Paris Saint-Germain winning trophies over his picking up individual prizes like the coveted Ballon d'Or award.

Some have argued that one of the reasons why Neymar left Barcelona is to be out of the shadows of Lionel Messi and having a better chance to win the Ballon d'Or.

However, Neymar claims he is not thinking of the Ballon d'Or as much as helping PSG win trophies; especially the Champions League that has eluded the French club over the years.

"Of course a football player wants to win the Ballon d'Or," he said after the Champions League win in Glasgow. "But I don't have to think about it. I have to think about what's better for our group, our club.

"This is a great team and, if we keep going like this, we have a big chance of doing it [winning the tournament].

"I'm very happy to start with a win. Of course, it's not only about getting goals, but that's the most important. That's what we came for. I'm very happy with this game." Neymar added.

The Ballon d'Or in recent times has been shared between Messi and his fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
