Paper money is under threat all over the world and digital currency is taking over jejely.

And in Nigeria where it is not yet much known it is now making a grand entry.

There are several of them such as Bitcon, TBC, Ethereum etc but the one entering Nigeria to be accepted for everyday transaction is called The Billion Coin, TBC.

There is a company that has introduced an initiative called the MoPAS MarketPlace.

It is scheduled to be launched in Lagos on Thursday by Sembic International Limited.

MoPAS Marketplace allows holders of the TBC to shop on e-commerce platforms including Jumia and Konga using naira and the TBC.

This followed a partnership between Sembic and the e-commerce firms.

This means that if you have TBC crypto currency, you can use it to shop on Konga and Jumia online stores.

“This is the first time in Nigeria that an indigenous company has been able to create a solution for the acceptance of the currency of the not-too-long future, thereby positioning Nigeria for the financial revolution, redefinition and disruption that is about to happen through the blockchain technology,” Sembic International Limited in a statement announcing the initiative.

Commenting on the development, the Chairman, Sembic, Victor Akinbile, said, “We came up with this product in order to boost digital currencies revolution.

“This was why we went ahead to strike a deal with major e-commerce organisations in Nigeria through the product called MoPAS MarketPlace.

“This is meant to ensure that the TBC holders can, through the MoPAS MarketPlace, shop on e-commerce platforms (including Jumia and Konga) using naira and TBC. The TBC is now redeemable on Jumia and Komga through MoPAS MarketPlace!”
