After over four month of inactivity owing to injury setbacks, Super Eagles Captain John Obi Mikel is now back in action with his Chinese club Tianjin TEDA.

Mikel, who has been out with an abdominal injury, was in action on Monday in the Chinese Super League clash between his club and Hebei CFFC.

Though Mikel and his team were beaten 2-0 at home, the return to action of the Nigeria captain is definitely more important.

Mikel has not played for Nigeria this year with his last game being the 3-1 home win over Algeria in November 2016 but Monday's development should see him return for the crucial World Cup qualifying games against defending African champions, Cameroon.

Mikel's last league game before Monday's outing was on April 4 at home against Chongging Dangdai Lifan, which his club won 2-0.
