No matter how many times you try to score in football, if you fail to put the ball over the line and into the net; then it counts for nothing.

Real Betis boss, Quique Setien claims his side exploited Real Madrid’s “weaknesses” to secure the stunning 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Antonio Sanabria’s stoppage-time winner stunned Madrid, who had over 20 attempts and the Real Betis Coach is of the opinion that things could have been worse for Real Madrid.

“Winning at the Bernabeu? It means a lot, makes us stronger and gives us a huge shot of confidence,” the Coach said after the game.

“We’ve picked up three prestigious points by winning at the Bernabeu. In order to win here, you must be prepared to suffer and have luck on your side.

“You must also know that they’re a team that have weaknesses. Adan was superb, but we had chances and attacks. Winning here without suffering is unrealistic.

“I regretted our lack of precision with our finishing because [the win] could’ve been more comfortable for us, we could’ve done more damage.

“Joaquin’s introduction? I wanted us to have more the ball, but Madrid had thrown everyone forward and it was difficult.

“They kept pushing and made it difficult for us to have the ball, but we’re happy.

“We defended very well, but the more your opponents have the ball, the more chances they’ll have.

“Playing against these teams is very difficult, but I’m happy because we handled the ball well and made them run.”
