If you are among those who have registered for the national identity card with the National Identity Management Centre, NIMC and have yet to collect your card, you might want to read this.

All you need to do is to click on this link - https://touch.nimc.gov.ng/ or open a web browser on your desktop or smartphone, copy and paste the link.

Push the proceed button, fill in your first and last names as well as your National Identification Number.

Click on the check now button. Wait for seconds while it is loading and the status of your NIMC card will appear on the display.

If you have lost your slip and cannot trace your National Identity Number, NIN, you can now use a USSD to retrieve your NIN.

You can use the USSD to retrieve your NIN conveniently by using any type of mobile phone as it is also available on all mobile networks in the country.

Just dial *346#, from the options displayed, select NIN retrieval, by typing in 1, if you are using the same phone number you enrolled with for your NIN.

Or select NIN Search, by typing in 2, to retrieve your NIN by inputting some of your registered details (if you are not using the same phone number you enrolled with follow the steps displayed on your screen and provide the required inputs).

Note that using the USSD service attracts a twenty-naira fee deducted from your phone credit balance.
