How Police Caught 'Danfo' Robbers In Surulere
Have you been robbed in a commercial bus before? This should make you happy.
On Tuesday, October 30 at about 4am, a robbery gang was sighted in Surulere area of the Lagos, using Volkswagen buses, painted in Lagos commercial colour.
Information reached the police that these men were robbing passengers who innocently boarded their vehicles.
Operatives of the FSARS Ikeja were drafted to the area to locate and arrest the felons.
The presence of the operatives emboldened some passengers already held hostage and they raised the alarm which attracted the police operatives.
The men in their danfo buses were given a hot chase and their operational Volkswagen buses with registration number APP 416 XX and SMK 367 XR were intercepted.
Three of the robbers were arrested and the passengers were rescued.
During interrogation, the robbers confessed that they rob unsuspecting passengers daily and, on the average, they realize over 300,000 naira any day they go out on operation.
The arrested ones gave their names as Ezekiel Andrew aged 29 years; Sikiru Tajudeen aged 20 years and Ibrahim Kazeem aged 30 years.
