Who did it? His media aide, Kassim Afegbua.

Now you understand why you saw the story that police had invited him for questioning for ‘issuing a fake press statement to the public’.

The entire drama now looks like the retired general’s camp had to deny the statement when they saw that it was different from what the statesman said.

However, Kassim somehow managed to make us believe he had not erred by stating that they stood by the statement he released.

Findings by online media platform Aledeh revealed that General Babangida indeed released a statement on Sunday to address a wide range of national issues.

However, the statement titled “My Counsel To The Nation – By General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR” was not addressed to President Buhari.

A source in IBB’s camp said, “Oga gave the statement alright but Kassim got carried away and added his own…that was the problem…”
