How $30 Billion Went Missing Under Buhari – Fani-Kayode
For a government that claims to be relentless in its fight against graft, this may prove to be a damning allegation.
A total of $30 billion, which translates to about 9.2 trillion naira, has allegedly gone missing 'under' the President.
The claim comes from a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who is a chieftain in Nigeria's main opposition party, the PDP.
Fani-Kayode in a series of tweets on Sunday, gave a breakdown of the figures from the year 1977.
“Never in our history has ANY govt official siphoned $26 billion through bogus oil contracts in less than one year. Buhari and Baru STINK!
“In 1977, $2.8 billion went missing under Buhari. In 1997, $500 million went missing under him. Today (in 2017), $26 billion has gone missing under him,” Fani-Kayode wrote in his tweets.
“So, over the last 60 years $30 billion has gone missing under Buhari’s watch,” he added.
But there is the prophetic side.
According to Fani-Kayode, “Buhari hits it every 20 years and that year always ends with 7.”
