HOLLYWOOD: Nigerian Brothers Cleared From Jussie Smollett Attack Case
The two Nigerian “potential suspects” arrested in the Jussie Smollett attack, Olabinjo “Ola” and Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo have been released.
Chicago police spokesperson, Anthony Guglielmi confirmed this on Twitter.
Ola and Abel were arrested by the police after returning from Nigeria as persons of interest in the attack of Empire star, Jussie Smollett.
Guglielmi explained that the brothers were freed and not charged after new evidence was obtained.
“Due to new evidence as a result of today’s interrogations, the individuals questioned by police in the Empire case have now been released without charging.” Anthony Guglielmi said.
However, the homophobic attack on the American star is still under investigation.
