High Heels Race To Hold In Lagos
Wearing high heels could be fashionable for ladies but it comes it with his own baggage.
However, for those that have mastered this 'extreme' fashion sense, they could earn some more money for themselves as the stage is now set for the maiden edition of 4-lnch High Heels Race Competition.
It is understood that 70 ladies are to participate in this race billed for Nov. 18 in Lagos to encourage ladies to be smart and confident in high heels.
The organiser of this unique race, Dede Kalu posits that ladies ought to practice how to work in heels to avoid accidents, hence the need for this kind of innovation.
“We are concerned about the numerous injuries ladies encounter while wearing heels and crossing highway or walking on streets, offices and at home because they lack confidence to walk smartly on them.
“I witnessed a young lady crossing the expressway but could not run fast enough and a vehicle knocked her down.
“I and some others carried her in my car to a hospital,’’ he said.
According to Dede, the selected ladies are within 17 years to 28 years of age.
He also disclosed that medical personnel and ambulances would be available in case of emergencies.
There are cash prizes of N100,000, N70,000, and N50,000 for the top three finishers.
The fourth to 20 will also go home with consolation prices such as soaps, wears and cosmetics.
The event would hold at the CMD Field, Magodo Shangisha, Ikeja, from 10a.m.
