The former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has a New Year message for Nigerians and it is laced with optimism.

Nigeria has changed, as the current administration of Muhammadu Buhari promised the people, but with unforeseen hardship that even past leaders are complaining about.

The economy is out of recession, but there are predictions that inflation will rise again in this 2019 and that will further make more people poor.

Cries of hardship are heard from the east, west, north and south and they are loudest where the very poor live, even though there is a cash transfer policy that is supposed to reach them.

For the former Governor of Ekiti State, the year 2018 was one of palpable hardship.

"Pharaoh That You See"

He says it was most felt by the common man and he is optimistic that this New Year 2019 will restore hope to the hopeless.

"Happy New Year," Fayose wrote.
