Gunmen Kill Marafa’s Sister, Kidnap Husband

Armed bandits in Zamfara State have abducted and later killed Senator Kabiru Marafa’s sister, Hajiya Ade Marafa.

Suspected bandits have killed the elder sister of the Senator representing Zamfara central, Kabir Marafa and abducted her husband.

Hajiya Ade Marafa was said to have been slaughtered on Tuesday morning.
However, Hajiya Marafa’s husband, who is a village head, was spared.
He was taken to one of the dens of the terror gang for likely ransom demands.

Also on Monday night, bandits burnt down Takoka, Tudun Wada Mai Jatau and Doka villages, killing scores and abducted five women.

An aide to the senator, Abubakar Tsafe who confirmed the incidence in a statement, said the bandits struck at the residence of the Senator’s sister located at Ruwan Bore area of Gusau local government area on Tuesday.

The aide said the suspected bandits numbering about 100 set the village ablaze after raiding it.

“More than half of Ruwan Bore village has been burnt by the bandits. The villagers are now seeking refuge at Mada, a neighbouring community,” he said in a statement.

Tsafe said at the time of issuing the statement, the senator’s in-law had not been found.
