Sometimes one wonders whether government officials have the right to do some things in public, like throwing money at praise singers.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is seriously nursing an injury.

The governor in his usual way of throwing money from his car door missed his steps when throwing money at the people on Friday and fell off from his vehicle.

The governor was returning from Abuja when he slowed down to display affluence by throwing money for the poor to pick from the ground.

Witnesses say the governor was seriously injured as he was dragged on the ground before his driver realised and stopped.

He was quickly rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was attended to.

There were speculations that the governor has since then been incapacitated.

Reacting to the rumour of his hspitalisation,  the governor on Tuesday said only his left leg was affected in the accident.

The governor made this known through his Media and Publicity Director-General, Kingsley Fanwo, while dispelling speculations that the governor is incapacitated.

Fanwo stated that only the left leg of the governor was bandaged by doctors.

“The Governor missed his footing last Friday, March 30, 2018 while alighting from a vehicle and injured his left foot. He was treated by his doctors, who bandaged the leg and discharged him.

“We thank all the Governor’s supporters and well-wishers who reached us to inquire after his wellbeing. His Excellency is doing very well and will be at work as usual after the Easter holidays.

“Once again, the Governor sends his best wishes to Kogites for the Easter Season and beyond,” the statement read.
