The rains are here and it is natural for bad roads to get worse and inaccessible.

In Gombe state, the story is similar as the rains have continued to pose a threat on federal roads linking Gombe and other states of the federation.

Gombe Dukku to Darazo road, being one of the major roads linking Gombe to some parts of Bauchi, Jigawa and Kano state, is in a bad shape as a result of the downpour experienced Monday night.

Over 50 vehicles coming from Kano were held for several hours due to heavy rain around Kwami LGA in Gombe state.

About four vehicles were submerged in the flood.

Some drivers plying the federal road and passengers who spoke to Bounce News said they hope that both the state and federal government would act fast to prevent the road from degenerating.

Kawuwa, a driver plying the road from Kano to Yola, Adamawa state said "we believe government is aware of the situation here and would soon do something about the road because a similar incident has happened to this road in the past and was addressed.

“We want the government to act fast as only God knows what will happen when next it rains here," he said.

Kawu Jam Jam, whose car was stranded for hours told Bounce News that based on what he saw on the road around Kwami LGA, there is need for government to urgently find solutions to the road.

"I think government officials should try and visit this road when it is raining to truly see what is happening there not after the rain," he said.
