The Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo appears to have demonstrated that he has listening ears.

He has set up a committee to address the lingering ecological problem bedeviling the state.

This is coming after various communities have cried for assistance in the area's ecological problem.

The committee, which is expected to come up with a blueprint to tackle the ecological challenge in the state, is chaired by the state commissioner of lands and survey, Shehu Durbi.

He told reporters shortly after the committee's second meeting in Gombe that the state has suffered enough from ecological issues.

He said that it is time to find a short and long-term solution to the problem which has over the years put the state in the front burner for the wrong reasons.

Committee members are commissioners of the various ministries directly involved in the effort of proffering solution to the lingering challenge. 

The chairman of the committee Shehu Durbi said, "We are assuring people of Gombe state that behind any problems lies a solution, so on this particular issue, help is on the way."

"The people should support the government so that we can all achieve the objective of this committee," he added.
