The role health workers play can not be over-emphasized and the National Industrial Court seems to agree.

The court has therefore ordered the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals to call off the indefinite nationwide strike which commenced on March 6.

The Federal Ministry of Health had taken the workers to court over their industrial action.

The ministry argued in court that the striking workers perform essential services, so indulging in a strike action is detrimental to the nation.

Members of the NUAHP, who commenced indefinite strike on March 6, include: dental therapists, medical physicists, health information officers, clinical psychologists and medical social workers.
