He is one of the most wanted crime kingpins in Nigeria.

Nigerian police have declared Terwase Akwaza, also known as Ghana, wanted in connection with a crime spree including the murder of 67 people.

The force obtained a court order to arrest the crime lord for the March 20 killings of 17 people and wanton destruction of properties worth millions of Naira, by arson, at Zaki Biam market in central Benue State.

Akwaza is also accused of killing about 50 people in other locations in Benue, including the security aide to Governor Samuel Ortom.

“He is culpable for other capital offences such as kidnapping, armed robbery, culpable homicide, mischief by fire and criminal conspiracy,” said national police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood.

Akwaza has been described as dark in complexion, tall, stout in build and bearing no tribal mark on his face.

The Benue State police spokesperson said the command was offering a “handsome” reward of 10 million Naira for anyone with useful information that could lead to Akwaza’s arrest.
