Generator Fumes Kill 3 In Edo
Family and friends of 3 residents in Edo state have been left thoroughly saddened after generator fumes killed them.
The three died from suspected generator fumes around Sapele road in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State,
The deceased, two female and a male, were found dead by two other occupants of the flat in the early hours of Sunday.
It was learnt that the door to the apartment was locked prior to the discovery of the bodies.
Upon entry, the generator was said to have been sighted in the kitchen, a development which raised the suspicion that it could have been left running throughout the night.
It was further gathered that the two females were visitors of the deceased who was found naked in his room.
The naked body of the man was said to have been found lying on the ground, while the other woman’s body was found on a bed.
Another of the deceased females was found dead in the lobby.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Nkombe, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
Nkombe said an investigation would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
He said, “Until (the) doctor’s report comes out, it is likely they died of generator fume. One of the occupants of the room died.
“The flat is occupied by three boys. The two senior ones went to a party and when they returned, they saw that the door was locked; they then raised the alarm.”
It was, however, learnt that the remains of the deceased have been deposited in a mortuary.
