A former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, will on October 18, 2017 declare his interest in becoming the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Daniel, one of the founding fathers of the PDP, had before now been consulting with top members of the party on his ambition.

According to the programme of event, Daniel will declare interest in the party’s top job in Abuja at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja by 11am.

He would now be slugging it out with Bode George, Rashid Ladoja, Prof Tunde Adeniran and others.

The party has zoned the post of National Chairmanship to the South, while the presidential ticket is zoned to the North of the country.

The South-West is favoured to produce the party’s Chairman because it is the only zone that has not occupied the position.

The elective National Convention of the PDP is billed to take place on December 9.
