HBO has dropped a hint about when the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" will return.

Though the date of the final season has not been officially announced, during the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said the eighth and final season of the show will return in the first half of 2019.

This might mean that "Game of Thrones" will go back to its original format of release, in March of April, as the first six seasons  premiered in either March or April, with the seventh season premiering  in July.

Earlier in 2018, HBO executive, Francesca Orsi, in an interview said there would be quite a number of deaths in season eight.

“None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths," she said.

The penultimate season came to an end with the Night King commandeering  an un-dead dragon to destroy the wall to begin the great war.
