FRESH FM: Oyo Lawmaker Pledges N100,000 To Support Yinka Ayefele
Ibadan residents and lovers of popular musician, Yinka Ayefele whose building was partially demolished by the Oyo State Government on Sunday August 19, 2018 have been expressing their feelings.
So also have politicians been taking advantage of the situation to attack the APC-led government of Oyo state, especially, Governor Ajimobi.
But for some, it not just about talks and no action. Honourable Olaleye Olusegun of the Oyo State House of Assembly is putting his money where his mouth is.
With cash, he is supporting the expected plan to rebuild the damaged Music House, home of Fresh FM, Ibadan.
In a chat with Bounce News, he said "This is not a good attitude at all. If Oyo State Government was President Buhari, he would have demolished Channels TV and AIT.
“During President Jonathan's regime, we knew what the masses did and said but nobody attacked them. In 2011, Splash FM's Edmond Obilo attacked Akala's regime and nothing happened to him.
“This act is not lawful and moreover, he is a physically challenged person and has a lot of people on his pay roll.
“I plead with the Federal Government to talk to the Governor to pay for all the damages.
“I will support Ayefele with 100,000 naira and I plead with the masses to come to his aid to help restructure the building."
It’s been three days and well-wishers have not stopped visiting the scene of the demolition to sympathize with the management and staff of the organisation.
One Captain Kehinde Bello, believes the incident has given the state a bad reputation and agrees that compensation would be ideal to at least redeem that image.
"What the government did is offensive, it has given the state a bad reputation as well as their political party because Yinka Ayefele is someone who we should all pity.
"God has blessed him and several others are benefiting from it. The Government should retrace their steps and allow peace rain," he said.
A woman who pleaded to remain anonymous added: “I am afraid of what will happen in 2019, I don’t think anything tangible can come out.
"The Government should retrace their steps and apologize to the masses and not only people of Oyo State."
