Super Eagles forward Samuel Kalu was the hero for his club Bordeaux on Wednesday night as he scored the lone goal in their 1-0 win over Le Havre in the French League Cup.

The Nigeria international who was handed a start in the attack was booked in the 45th minute for dangerous play as his team struggled to break down a resolute Le Havre side.

The Nigerian ended up as the hero for his side in the 70th minute when he netted what ended up as the only goal of the encounter which was also enough to see Bordeaux move to the next round of the League cup.

With Wednesday’s goal, 21- year old Kalu now has three goals for Bordeaux in all competitions this season with his other goals coming in the Ligue 1 where he has played a total of 13 games.

While Kalu and his teammates are through to the next stage of the French League Cup, the star-studded PSG team have been dumped out.
