The month of October is bound to be one that Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem will remember for a long time to come.

Aside October being the month of independence for Nigeria and one which the Super Eagles qualified for the Russia 2018 World Cup, it is the month in which Awaziem got his first nomination for the Player-of-the-Month at French club, Nantes.

Three other players namely Abdoulaye Toure, Leo Dubois and Diego Carlos were also shortlisted alongside Awaziem.

The winner of the monthly award will be decided by votes from fans of the club.

Though largely inactive for the Super Eagles, Awaziem has been ever-present for his French club; especially in the month under review with a goal and assist to his name.

His contributions upfront even from his role as a defender also earned him a place in Ligue 1 team of the week this October.

Awaziem is on a season-long loan from FC Porto and he has been invited for the upcoming games against Algeria and Argentina.
