Nigeria’s Super Falcons ended their campaign at the Four-Nation Invitational tournament in China on a bright note on Sunday.

The Falcons thrashed the Women National Team of Romania 4-1 in the third-place match.

The Nigeria Women’s team had lost 3-0 to host China on Thursday but the current African Women champions played better on Sunday and got a deserved victory over Romania

Chinwendu Ihezuo broke the deadlock in the 44th minute but the Europeans leveled the game 10 minutes into the second half.

The Falcons were in total control in the second half as skipper and defender Onome Ebi put Nigeria back in front in the 63rd minutes before Rita Chikwelu added her own goal to make it 3-1 in favour of Nigeria.

England-based Ini Umotong put the final nail on Romania’s coffin as she netted the 4th goal in the 83rd minutes to give the Super Falcons a resounding win.

Next on the card for Super Falcons is February’s Cyprus Women Cup.
