A former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, is not finding things easy at this period.

Since 2015, he has been in a long battle with Nigeria authorities concerning a property in Lagos.

Kanu’s hotel, Hardley Apartments, located in Lagos has been sealed and taken over by Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) over allegation of debt.

In a statement sent to Bounce News on Monday, Kanu is calling on AMCON to obey court orders and reveal the amount of his hotel’s indebtedness.

Kanu said AMCON had “embarked on vandalising/stripping the property under the guise of renovation, but ostensibly with a clandestine design to brazenly sell or hand it to a third party under secrete terms and thus complicate/further stall this matter".

Kanu added that his heart bleeds profusely to see a property and business he acquired during his playing days and after undergoing a dangerous heart surgery in his early career.

The two-time Africa Player of The Year said the Hardley Apartments provided financial resources to the Kanu Heart Foundation, which had saved many lives.

Kanu who had a great career played for Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth, said since he retired from active football, Hardley Apartments has been a major source of income to finance his Heart Foundation.
