Former Defence Chief Alex Badeh Shot Dead

A Former Chief of Defence Staff in Nigeria, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, has been shot dead.
Badeh was killed on Tuesday by gunmen along Abuja-Keffi Road.
His death was announced by the spokesman for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, on Tuesday night.
The statement on the attack on Badeh shared on Twitter was another indicator of the height of insecurity in Nigeria.
Mr Badeh "died from gunshot wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked while returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road," the statement read.
The former Air Chief, who was preparing to mark his 62nd birthday on January 10, was the Defence Chief in Nigeria during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
