This is definitely not the best of times for airline operators in the country.

If you fly First Nations regularly, you will have to wait till March 28 before you can book your next flight.

The airline has suspended its operations according to Captain Chimara Imediegwu, its Director of Flight Operations in Lagos.

He said that the airline is not officially grounded, but is re-programming its schedule.

Imediegwu insists that the suspension of the existing flight schedule is temporary.

“We decided to take this step in order not to continue to fly for flying sake and spending scarce resources due to drop in the number of passengers flying to Kaduna.

“So, it is not true that we grounded our operations due to lack of flight crew or any other factors,” he said.

The director notes that some other airlines have cut down their flights due to a drastic reduction in the number of passengers.
