Finally, Former DSS DG Is In EFCC's Net
Is the DSS one of those agencies with bad eggs that President Muhammadu Buhari said would be fished out among the ruling part and government?
A former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Ita Ekpeyong, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Ekpeyong is the same man that the DSS operatives guarding his apartment stopped the EFCC from arresting nearly 9 months ago.
He was arrested at his residence, 46, Maman Nasir Street, Asokoro, Abuja, before dusk on Thursday.
Officials of the EFCC had not confrontations this time, with the backing of some armed policemen.
The former DSS boss' arrest is coming two days after Mathew Seiyefa, was made the new Director General of the DSS.
Mr Lawal Daura had been sacked after DSS officials on Tuesday blocked members of the National Assembly from gaining access into the complex.
Ekpeyong, who, served as the head of the DSS from 2010 to 2015, had been invited by the EFCC for his alleged role in the arms deal involving a former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retired).
