After playing for almost ten years in the lower ranks of Nigeria football, Bendel Insurance are now on the verge of gaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Insurance secured a 1-0 win against Remo Stars in the Matchday two of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 on Monday to further brighten their chance.

Junior Osaghae was the hero for the Edo state team; scoring the solitary goal in the Day 2 encounter.

On their part, having failed to claim three points on day one, Shooting Stars bounced back to reckoning with a morale boosting 2-0 victory over Delta Force.

Ayobami Junior and Opeoluwa Oluwafemi rescued the three points for the Oluyole Warriors.

Shooting sit third on the Southern Conference log, three points behind first-positioned Bendel Insurance.

Elsewhere, Kada City were ruthless in their game against Kogi United as they romped to a 3-0 win.

 Nura Mohammed, Umar Mohammed and Kabiru Sanusi were all on target as the Kaduna based outfit also close in on one of the four promotion tickets.

Kada City have four points from two games thus far, while Kogi United have one point from same number of matches.

Gombe United needed a 92nd-minute winner from Adamu Mohammed to scrape a 1-0 victory over Real Stars.
