Film adaptation Of Tomi Adeyemi's ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ Gets A Nigerian Director
Last year, Nigerian-American author, Tomi Adeyemi made her groundbreaking West African-inspired bestselling debut, Children of Blood and Bone.
The film rights for this bestseller novel got snatched up almost immediately after the book came out.
The studio that bought the rights, Fox 2000, has tapped award-winning Nigerian-American director, Rick Famuyiwa to helm the movie.
Famuyiwa, who has written and directed outstanding films like The Wood, Brown Sugar and Dope, was originally meant to direct the superhero movie, The Flash, but he dropped out due to creative differences.
Children of Blood and Bone is a 2018 adult fantasy novel, and the first book in a planned trilogy.
Tomi's follow-up book, Children of Virtue and Vengeance is slated to hit shelves on June 4, 2019.
