FIFA Nominates Florence Omagbemi For Best Women's Coach
Former Super Falcons coach, Florence Omagbemi has been nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach 2017 award.
A panel of women's football experts nominated Omagbemi among nine others. Three of the coaches will make the final contestants who will be present at the awards.
According to FIFA, voting starts on Monday 21 August and finishes on Thursday 7 September.
Omagbemi will slug it out with Olivier Echouafni (France), Emma Hayes (England), Ralf Kellermann (Germany), Xavier Llorens (Spain), Nils Nielsen (Denmark), Gerard Precheur (France), Dominik Thalhammer (Austria), Sarina Wiegman (Netherlands) and Hwang Yongbong (Korea DPR) for the coveted prize.
Omagbemi has played in four FIFA Women’s World Cups, and has won four Africa Women’s Championship titles.
As a coach, she led the Super Falcons to their eighth CAF Africa Women's Cup of Nations title in Cameroon last year.
