Cameroon and Australia have slim chances of progressing to the semi finals of the ongoing FIFA Confederation Cup in Russia after both teams played out a 1-1 draw in their second group game on Thursday.

While the Socceroos will be happy that they could salvage at least a point from the game which took place in St. Petersburg, the Indomitable Lions will be disappointed, having failed to make the most of the chances that came their way in the pulsating encounter.

The Lions did take the lead in Thursday's game through Zambo Anguissa with the last kick of the first half but the Australians clawed their way back and their tenacity was rewarded with a 59th minute penalty kick which was calmly converted by Mark Milligan.

Cameroon will be facing Germany in their last group game while Australia have a date with South American champions, Chile.
