FIFA Best Player 2018: Mikel Disagrees With Rohr Over Modric
The emergence of Croatia captain, Luka Modric, as the FIFA Best Player for 2018 has been generating debates with some agreeing it was a right choice and others faulting same.
Even as far as Nigeria is concerned, Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi and Coach of the Nigeria team, Gernot Rohr, are not on the same page with the former making Lionel Messi his first choice while the later opting for Modric.
As contained in the breakdown released by FIFA following the emergence as the winner of the Best Player Award, it was revealed that Mikel voted Messi in the first position with Kylian Mbappe in second position and Luka Modric in the third position.
However, Super Eagles manager disagreed with his captain after he voted Modric in the first position, Kylian Mbappe in second place and Lionel Messi in third place.
It was also revealed Argentina captain voted for his main rival Cristiano Ronaldo albeit in third place with Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappe in first and second positions respectively.
However, his rival Ronaldo voted for former teammate Raphael Varane in first place with Luka Modric in second place and Antoine Griezmann in third place.
But the result was different.
1st: Luka Modric – 29.05%
2nd: Cristiano Ronaldo – 19.08%
3rd: Mohamed Salah – 11.23%
