This week, federal government ministries, agencies and parastatals will get more money from the 2017 budget.

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun said the sum of N750bn would be released this week for the implementation of capital projects contained in the 2017 budget.

“What the government is doing is to provide enabling infrastructure that would bring potential into reality.” Adeosun said on Monday in a meeting with delegation of 30 companies from France.

“Last year we released N1.3tn of capital and so far this year we have released N450bn and this week we will release another N750bn and this will take the release to N1.2tn by the end of the year.”

Nigeria’s 2017 budget was passed in May after its first presentation in December 2016.

In the budget, N2.36tn was approved for capital expenditure.
