Fayose Takes Stomach Infrastructure To EFCC's Office - Aide
The former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, may not have thrown the Stomach Infrastructure office away after he left Ekiti.
He has been calm amidst his trial time with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) even as he appeared in court on Monday.
Some things happened behind the scene that many people did not know about on the day he pleaded not guilty to the charges bordering on corruption.
His aide, Lere Olayinka, who is in charge of his Twitter handle, as he faces trial posted a statement.
He said Mr Fayose took his stomach infrastructure policy to the EFCC's office.
"In his usual characteristics, Fayose took his Stomach Infrastructure to the EFCC office in Lagos today as he provided food for over 150 people (detainees and visitors).
"The highly elated detainees jointly sang the National Anthem after their stomachs were adequately serviced," the tweet on Fayose's Twitter page read.
It did not stop there, however, as the former Ekiti Governor whom, according to the EFCC, allegedly benefited from the Sambo Dasuki's arms deal money, also did something else for other persons awaiting trial.
He secured lawyers for some of the detainees, his aide stated.
He wrote: "Also, he has secured lawyers for some of the detainees that are in genuine need of legal representation".
According to him, Governor Fayose also "promised to assist those having challenges in meeting their bail conditions".
Governor Fayose pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him when he was arraigned in a court in Lagos on Monday.
The EFCC said it had at least 22 witnesses that would appear in court in the process of the trial.
The former Minister of Defence for State, Musiliu Obanikoro, is leading the witnesses' list.
Obanikoro allegedly played a role in the Ekitigate situation that the All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed brought Fayose in as the Governor of the State in 2014.
he is now a member of the APC.
